In past years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health care has changed significantly. There are no longer just in-person therapy sessions but also virtual therapy sessions, better known as telehealth.
Toxic positivity means maintaining a positive attitude or mindset during challenging circumstances, even when it is the time to have negative feelings (Cherry, 2026).
Mental health struggles, much like physical health problems, are often something that requires the help of a professional. However, mental health professionals (MHPs) are often treated differently than medical doctors by society and clients.
Depression is one of the most common mental health disorders in the world (World Health Organization [WHO], 2025b). The two most common types of depression are major depressive disorder and persistent depressive disorder.
